Draw in
the open
Aperto is a free vector drawing app for iPad. Sketch, ink and color without an account or a subscription. Everything you make stays on your iPad and in your iCloud.
Grab a point. Bend the line.
Shapes and pen lines keep their nodes and handles, so you can pick one up and reshape the curve long after you drew it. Try it here. Then zoom in as far as you like: the edge never turns into pixels, and it stays that way in SVG and PDF.
Open a coloring page. Tap to fill.
- ImportOpen a PDF you bought, a scan of a line drawing, or one of the 20 pages that come with the app. The lines arrive as vectors on their own locked layer.
- FillPick a color and tap a shape. Small gaps in the lines are closed for you.
- Keep goingFills are vector shapes too. Recolor them, edit them, or export the page whenever you like.
Any photo becomes paint by numbers
- Pick a photoA pet, a view, a face. Aperto reduces it to a small palette and puts a number on every patch.
- Choose the detailSimple, Balanced or Detailed. Slide between the photo and the page to compare before you start.
- Fill by numberThe numbered colors wait next to the canvas. Tap one, then fill the patches that match.
Lay paper on it and trace
The light table puts your page or any photo on the screen at full brightness, with an optional grid and a mirror. Lock it, put a sheet of paper on top and trace with a real pencil. Hold the lock for two seconds to leave.
Brushes that behave like the real ones
Pick from 22 brushes in five sets: sketching, inking, markers, painting and texture. Your last six sit in a tray at the edge of the canvas. Pick one up and it slides out, ready to draw in the color you chose.
And the rest of the kit
22 brushes
Graphite, ink with a calligraphy nib, markers, gouache, bristle, spray and spatter. Your last six stay in the palette.
Help with every stroke
A smoothing slider. QuickShape turns a held stroke into a clean line, arc, ellipse or rectangle. Symmetry and mandala guides with 2 to 12 rays.
Real vector tools
Shapes, a Bézier pen and node editing. Combine shapes, clip with a lasso mask, fill an area with a color or a gradient. Layers have 16 blend modes.
Text that bends
Type right on the canvas in any font, Google Fonts included, and set it on an arc, a circle, a wave or a spiral.
Stickers
Turn a selection into a die-cut sticker. Share it as a transparent PNG, or as a vector PDF for a cutting machine.
More ways to color
Recolor a finished page with another palette in one tap, print a coloring book made from up to 20 photos, or start from one of 20 built-in pages.
Made for Apple Pencil
Pressure on every brush. Squeeze Apple Pencil Pro for brushes and colors at the tip. Tap with two fingers to undo, three to redo.
